Here are my 8x8" comfortghan squares, ready to ship in the morning. These are part of a collaborative effort on crochetville for a fellow member's soldier son, injured in Iraq, hence the red/white/blue colorway.
These are actually knit, not crocheted, but I really wanted to use this boucle yarn, it is in the perfect patriotic colors, and the "loops" made it hard to crochet. These are mae with a double strand of bernat soft boucle, and they are very fluffy and soft. Madeline was so taken with them this morning that I am going to make her a mini blanket from the remaining yarn. Plus, I just bought a bunch of July 4th decor, so a mini afghan project will fit in nicely...

Flying Aces toddler boys set
There is not a lot of cute out there for boys....but I couldn't resist this airplane fabric at the quilt store, and it didn't seem very girly, so a boys set it is:
The How-To:
I purchased a long sleeve tee shirt in navy to go with the fabric. (Check out the clearance racks off season at target for great prices!) I cut a circle with my favorite red airplane motif, and hemmed the edges. You can get fancy with the sewing tools here, or just do what I did and trace around a plate for a circle template.
Stitch the circle to the front of the shirt. (you can use fusible webbing if you prefer, the edges have already been hemmed)
I used my own pants pattern to make a pair of straight legged pants, and added a blue cuff in lieu of a hem. Any basic pants pattern will work. I had enough fabric left over to make a bucket hat:
The details:
Size 2t
Costs: Tshirt, on sale 2.00
fabric, 8.00, quilt shop
on hand: pattern, blue scrap for cuffs, threads, notions, etc
Sold for $35.00

pastel farm friends toddler set
<
This is a fast and easy set to make! I started with a yard of cute printed fabric (a pastel blue ground with frolicing baby farm animals), and picked a matching toddler sized sweatshirt. I had a little bit--about a pillowcase sized chunk) of vintage white chenille, so I used that, too.
I cut the sweatshirt up the middle and around the neck to make a jacket, and blanket stitched the edges with matching thread. I cut off the ribbing at the bottom and sleeve cuffs, and added ruffles of chenille and fabric. I also made a fabric flower with a covered button centre, using the same fabrics:
This is detatchable for washing or to pin onto a plain shirt for wear with the pants...
I used a simplicity pattern for basic pants (size 3t, so they took less than a yard). I modified them by adding chenille cuffs, gathered in the front, and secured with a button to match the rest of the pieces.
The boring details:
Cost: toddler sweatshirt, 4.00
fabric 1 yard, 5.00 (fromt he quilt store, on sale)
3 pc button cover kit, 1.50
from the on hand stash: matching pink floss, scrap of pink for buttons, chenille (cut from a
vintage spread, pattern, pin back
Total: 10.50
